What Should You Know About DRC?
is the short form for Diplomatic Residence Compound. “D” for “Diplomatic” is meant to emphasize on the uniqueness of our niche in the hospitality industry. “R” for us means “Respect” also, which is what we do in offering respectful management and services. “C” to us stands for “Creativity”, which is our slogan for operation.
Being an exclusive housing service entity catering to the needs of international clientele of diplomatic missions, UN representative offices, foreign media organizations and leading international corporations, bringing out its Chinese characteristics is of great significance to the DRC. In our logo, thus, the letter “C” is designed after a jade dragon unearthed at the site of Hongshan Culture in northern China (4000-3000 BC). For the dragon, the red color, the most popular in traditional Chinese culture, is chosen to represent “Respect, Creativity and Hearty Service” in our motto that also includes Sincerity, Consistency and Consideration in serving our tenants, making Diplomatic Residence Compound a home away from home for foreign envoys, representatives, journalists and business leaders working and living in Beijing.
Welcome to the website of the Diplomatic Residence Compound (DRC), which, we sincerely hope, will be a bridge for promoting better understanding, communication and friendship between us.

First built in the early years of the People’s Republic of China, the DRC is the earliest expatriate-oriented housing project and largest international community in China. In the past decades, following the principle of “Serving the needs of China’s foreign policy, socialist construction and diplomatic missions” and the motto of “practicality, efficiency and integrity”, we have made active efforts to build up and better the brand name of DRC. Today, the DRC boasts five compounds known as Jianwai, Qijiayuan, Sanlitun, Tayuan and Liangmaqiao, spanning across the Central Business District (CBD) of Beijing from Jianguomen in the west to the Lufthansa Center in the east, occupying a total land space of 1.2 million square meters. Equipped with the latest amenities and facilities, the greenery ratio of the compounds exceeds 40%, making them the “natural green lungs” of the restless downtown area. Through our “reach out” activities, cultural barriers between different nations are brought down and people-to-people relations closer, which makes the DRC a platform of international cultural exchanges. With more than half a century’s expertise and a professional team that has won universal recognition and commendation from our upscale tenants, the DRC’s 44 apartment buildings, 3 office buildings and 37 villas located in the three “embassy zones” have always been the first choice for diplomatic personnel stationed in Beijing for both residential and office purposes.

Along with China’s open policy, we warmly welcome all the successful from all over the world with open hearts to make their homes at the DRC and we promise to deliver full range services with the highest respect.
